A longtime Hong Kong resident, Debra Meiburg MW is a celebrated wine journalist and in-demand speaker who holds the top honour in the wine world: Master of Wine. In 2011, she was one of ten people to watch in Decanter’s Power List. Debra has spoken for key political figures and business leaders throughout Asia about the finer points of wine appreciation, and also for wine regions on 6 continents about Asian wine markets.

A former wine professor who is not afraid to get dirt under her fingernails, Debra has worked harvest in Chile, pruned vines in Bordeaux and been a cellar-hand in New York and South Africa. A widely respected wine judge and champion of the wine trade in Asia, she is a founder and director of the first truly Asian wine competition, the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition, and author of Debra Meiburg’s Guide to the Hong Kong Wine Trade, currently in it’s inaugural year.

Debra continues to reach out to an ever-broader audience of wine lovers through her online videos Meet the Winemaker; her Taxi TV wine tips called Grape Moments; her suite of wine “edutainment” products including a study card set of 2000 cards, the Grape Cues Collectors’ Series, designed for serious wine students; and, most recently, her wine travel show Taste the Wine, currently debuting on Cathay Pacific Airways.
